Pat Tillman | Hero & NFL Player

Pat Tillman sits atop a light tower at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ. Tillman would later go on to the NFL and would walk away from a lucrative career to join the US Army following the 9-11 attacks. In 2004, Tillman made international headlines when he was killed in what would later be determined to be a friendly-fire incident while serving in Afghanistan. This image was originally made on assignment for Sports Illustrated and published as a two-page spread.
